Equipment will be used - Icom IC-706MKIIG (100W on BPSK125) with HLA-300 Plus HF Power Amplifier (300W on other modes). We will use our multiband vertical antenna with a 9 meter vertical radiating wire mounted on a fiberglass pole and matched through the CG-5000 automatic antenna coupler at the bottom, earthed to 8 x 10m elevated radials. This time we are going to use the Radio Works T-4 Line Isolator along the RG8 coaxial cable, and a heavy earth rod mounted at the mobile shack to prevent RF feedback. The main goal of this trip is to activate a new WFF nature reserve and to participate in the EPC WW DX Contest [www.epcwwdx.srars.org] on BPSK125 mode. There will be a possibility to operate other modes for short periods according to the following frequencies ± QRM: 15 m (CW 21.044 MHz, SSB 21.244 MHz); 20 m (CW 14.044 MHz, SSB 14.244 MHz); 30 m (CW 10.124 MHz); 40 m (CW 7.024 MHz, SSB 7.144 MHz). QSL-cards should be sent via MMØDFV, preferably through the QSL-bureau. The Cragbank Woods National Nature Reserve (NNR) is located in Scottish Borders, a few miles southeast from Hawick. This expedition is organized under the WFF (World Flora and Fauna) award program [www.wff44.com]. The sponsor of this mini DX-pedition is Radioarena [www.radioarena.co.uk]. We are looking forward to see you on the bands, and especially in the EPC WW DX Contest on BPSK125 mode. All the very best from Scotland and our warmest 73! de MMØDGR/p |

EPC Fourth Year Celebration Month |
|
Dear EPC members,
From 1st to 30th June 2010 our club is organizing the "EPC Fourth Year Celebration Month" (EPC FYCM). There will be many special event stations working with the "EPC" suffix from all over the world. We are looking for EPC operators in various countries to apply for the special event station call signs locally to be active during the June, 2010. Please contact us if you are willing to apply for such special event call sign in your own country so that we can make an accurate list of all the participating stations beforehand, and inform PSK enthusiasts all over the world through various DX news resources including our own website. The only requirement is that the suffix of the special event station must be "EPC", such as GB1EPC, GB0EPC, etc. Please don't concern regarding the QSL design and printing expenses, our club will do that. Even if you don't have a QSL manager, we can offer you our help. We plan to issue a special series of EPC awards for contacts made with EPC club and special event stations from 1st to 30th June 2010. This will be the 4th anniversary celebration of the European PSK Club with more than 11000 members at that time. Please contact us as soon as possible if you wish to run an EPC special event station in June 2010 since it's going to be a great event amongst PSK enthusiasts. Announced EPC SES & Club Stations can be found at http://eu.srars.org/index.php?option=com_wrapper&Itemid=190 We would also ask our existing EPC club stations to be especially active during this period. Please contact us to confirm your participation so that we can add you to the list of the participants. The UK EPC members have already started to apply for Notices of Variation (NoV) for EPC Special Event Call Signs. Complete lists will be published on our website as soon as we accumulate the information. 73 de EPC Managers www.eu.srars.org |
