ESPAÑA Award Series The ESPAÑA Award Series was devised by the European PSK Club on 17th February 2008. This was to sponsor a series of PSK awards based on the EPC membership and administrative system of Spain. The official award manager is Sergio Gonzalez, EA4AFA. Spain is politically organized into 17 Autonomous Communities (comunidades autónomas) and 2 autonomous cities (ciudades autónomas) - Ceuta and Melilla. Administratively Spain also comprises fifty provinces. Seven autonomous communities are composed of only one province: Asturias, Balearic Islands, Cantabria, La Rioja, Madrid, Murcia, and Navarre. The ESPAÑA awards may be claimed by any EPC member eligible under these Rules who can produce evidence in a form of ADIF log of having contacted EPC members from various EU areas (provinces) within Spain by using any type of the Phase Shift Keying. The Francisco Pizarro Award may be claimed for contacts with 12 EU areas (provinces), the Vasco Nunez de Balboa Award - for contacts with 24 EU areas (provinces), the Hernan Cortes Award - for contacts with 36 EU areas (provinces), and the Christopher Columbus Award - for contacts with 48 EU areas (provinces) of Spain. Contact with 1 (one) EA8 or 1 (one) EA9 station can be used as a «Joker» to replace any 1 (one) missing Spanish EU Area. Only 1 (one) QSO is allowed with EA8, and 1 (one) QSO with EA9. Contacts for ESPAÑA awards are valid on or after 10th June 2006. There is another special award from this series called Spanish DXCC Award. This award may be claimed by any EPC member eligible under these Rules who can produce evidence in a form of ADIF log of having contacted stations on PSK from all 9 radio amateur regions of Spain - EA1, EA2, EA3, EA4, EA5, EA6, EA7, EA8 and EA9. Contacts made to claim the Spanish DXCC Award have no time or date restrictions. The submission for credit of any altered or forged log extractions or, equally, bad behaviour on or off the air which is judged by the European PSK Club to bring a particular programme into disrepute may result in disqualification of the applicant from the ESPAÑA Award Programme. The decision of the award manager on this and other matters of dispute will be finals. All awards are issued FREE of charge in a high quality PDF format and sent via email to the applicants. Awards could be printed with the highest quality and with optimal performance by applicants themselves. ESPAÑA awards are issued to the EPC members only. If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact Sergio Gonzalez, EA4AFA.
Application Procedure Since 1st June 2008 all claims for the EPC awards should be made using our UltimateEPC Award Management Software written by DK5UR. The award applicant should re-submit his application when claiming for higher classes of awards. The award manager will keep all your records in our database. Please make sure before you submit your ADIF log that you have checked it with the appropriate software. |
